25 May 2017 - Scotland Day 06 - Dunnottar Castle and a Couple More Fishing Towns

Evening, or afternoon? It's 9pm as I write this, but the sun is still high in the sky.

Day 90 on Lexapro.

Mood: 5.

Today, we went to Dunnottar Castle. It was a castle; I've seen a few by now, so it wasn't anything special to me.

What was more fun, though, was being down on the rocky shore. There wasn't a whole lot of animal life to be found, aside from a good number of snails and a singular hermit crab, but I walked among the rocks and made some stacks of them.

The fishing villages were kind of eh. Nothing really stood out to me.

Lunch was butternut squash and leek soup with bread for dipping, and fried carrot croquettes that were entirely too sweet.

Dinner was mashed potatoes, mashed turnips, haggis, and a beautiful whiskey sauce. Haggis is amazing - don't knock it until you've tried it! Dessert was a raspberry trifle.

Mentally...I don't know. Today was a bit strange. On one hand, I didn't feel awful, but on the other, there was a strong sense of being unwelcome in Favorite Person's presence. Like everyone else formed a cohesive unit with her on the inside and me far beyond.

The elderberry wine I've been forcing down must be doing its job. My head feels pleasantly fuzzy and my memories of how I felt today are equally unclear.

One of my internet friends (I think that I'll officially dub her Mama Goat) suggested doing an old-school pen pal thing, sending physical letters back and forth. She's one of the few people that I know for a fact keep up with this blog, and I appreciate her friendship greatly, even though I probably don't say it enough. I don't tell any of the people that I love and appreciate that I feel so frequently enough....

Anyway. Stamps are inexpensive enough, as are envelopes, and I always have lined paper. This would be a good activity, for my health and my sanity.

I'm going to see how much of this dealcoholized wine I can ingest before the smell makes me want to vomit. It's got an alcohol content of 0.5%, which means that the entire standard bottle isn't even four standard drinks, and is the most disappointing thing I've ever tasted.

I don't know what's on the agenda for tomorrow. I don't really care.

Until then.
