Resources

You might feel alone and beyond help, but trust me, you aren't.

As I find them, I'll add good sources of help here. The list will grow over time, so check back regularly. Feel free to contact me if there's anything I should add.

Hotlines

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline - 1 (800) 273 8255 - in addition to phone services, they also have an online chat function

The Trevor Project - 1 (866) 488 7386 - a toll-free suicide prevention line for LGBTQIA+ youth

Crisis Text Line - text "listen" to 741741 to chat anonymously with a trained crisis counselor

Information

National Institute of Mental Health - Depression

Lost All Hope - a comprehensive suicide resource. Note: this site includes discussion of methods. I highly suggest reading it very carefully.

Tools

Mental Health America - Depression Screen - a good screen to take if you're concerned that you're depressed, or to monitor your own depression

Moodpath - a thrice daily mood-tracking phone app that records incidence of depressive symptoms and generates a report that can be given to a doctor at the end of two week blocks of time; available for both Android and iOS
